BUCKINGHAM MINISTRY OUTREACH
WHAT WE DO
On the third Sunday of each month, from 3:00pm to 4:30pm, we do visitation with the elderly residents at the Buckingham Long-term Care Facility in Norwood (5 minutes away from Mosaic Christian Fellowship Church). We normally play a game (the residents love trivia), have a devotional, pray, and then spend quality one-on-one time with the residents.
We visit Buckingham to love our neighbors and honor them as Jesus first loved and honored us so that they, the residents and staff, can encounter Jesus and have a personal relationship with him. Many of the residents do not have local family and do not have a lot of contact outside the facility. Our ministry is intended to help meet some of the personal social needs of the residents while at the same time sharing the gospel with them.
There are a few simple requirements for volunteers. Volunteers must:
Be members of Mosaic Christian Fellowship
Attend a short orientation session provided by Buckingham
Have a TB test done (provided free of charge by the Buckingham nursing staff)
Meet with the leadership of the outreach prior to their first visit
